This is another part of my job where i use a long aluminum bar, if you will, to make sure the plaster is straight and equaly devided on the wall.
I do renovation plastering and therfore the layers we put on are most of the time thicker than the thin layers you put over concrete ( for example).
This wall was about 3 cm thick to get it straight and smooth.

  • Where do you get these alloy bars from? And how long do you get to work the plaster before it goes off?

  • Well those bars are sold at iron stores in holland at the plaster sections and it takes about 45 minutes before the plaster is to hard to work with.

By that time yoy should have straitened and devided it.

Cause after that it's only smoothing.

  • So was this a finish coat? or did you put a layer of skim on top? it looks like knauf mp finish but as you said its a think layer/

  • This is the only stuff I use...

I put it on the wall and finish it with the same stuff.

I will make another video in which I will show every step.

  • are you going over the dips that are left? i didnt know you could use a straight edge for skimming??

  • Isn't skimming like a really thin layer of plaster on a wall?

Cause this wall was at least 2,5 cm thick to get it straitened out.
