512 bb .....kein testarossa , auch wenn der 512er früherr mal einen "testarossa " in sich hatte ( b/12) , aber noch als vergaser und nicht als dierekt einspritzer so wie im testarossa von 1984
the 512 of the 90's was an updated testarossa, it came initially in 512tr and then finally 512m incarnations, the 512BB used here(or BBi-I cant tell which)was the replacement for the daytona. The testarossa replaced the 512BB(Berlinetta Boxer-so called because of its flat 12 engine)
Commercialized lyrics are "We're the new generation. Pepsi's makin' it right. Hear our voice. We made our choice for the Pepsi at night. You belong. You belong."
Retro Hip-and Damn cool Don Johnson- compared to the stupid ass commerials today!- .Remember "the Choice Of A New Generation?"Pepsi-.Well that is us and that logo was Welcome kids to your Generation Gen-X-! Man in 1985 I was young. Like 12 I still look young-And I'm proud of it! lol-
It's great that you posted that longer version - thanks! - but I do notice some differences here. There's a different jingle - You Belong to the City is changed here instead of It's Better than the USA - and there's some different scenes in the opening and dialogue - "Knock if off, Glenn." It's great to have both!
Great Ad -- but: This is a 30-second cut-down of the original. Many ads have different length versions like a 30 & 60 second, and sometimes a long one for use at special times like on the academy awards or the super bowl. You can see the full-length version of this commercial at Youtube 0HByh60JAlc
The 512 came out in the early 90s and was the successor to the Testarossa. It was in essence, the same shape but one of the major diff was the fact that instead of flipup headlamps, it was redesigned with fixed lamps. Of course there were other upgrades and the like. But the major difference between the Testarossa (most notably the late 80s white coupe featured in the series) and the 512M is the headlamps.
The car featured in this advert is neither a 512 nor a Testarossa.
