I agree with many of your conclusions, but I'm confused by your dislike of the Vocals in Sonic R. Isn't the 'tude and radness of the lyrics something that enhances the game in a completely life-altering way? It makes me feel badass and gives me the inspiration to go faster and wipe the competition all over the track! It's one of the hallmarks of great cheesiness in the world of gaming, and musically speaking, holds a space in my heart that only Joe's RoboVoice remixes can even come close to.

@gnawingonfoot I think the issue with Sonic R's vocal tracks is the singer herself. Just not appropriate. Now if they had some sort of crazy person singing, it would probably have a cheese factor that would make it way more enjoyable. I can't remember if I mentioned it in this video or not, but composer Richard Jacques told me long ago that having vocals in the music was not his idea and were tacked on later.

WTF y would you need a gamecube when you hav a wii which is compatible with gamecube? you could have saved some money there

@jackass7561 Not sure who this comment is directed towards, but back when the Gamecube was released, we had no clue that the Wii would be compatible with the Gamecube, plus we wanted to play Gamecube games now instead of waiting all the way until the Wii was released. Too bad the new Wii isn't compatible with the Gamecube. The Wii-U probably won't be, either.

U guys suck. Seriously Sega allstars racing is Mario Kart rip off and if Nintendo hadn't taken sonic under their wing he probably would've gone out of buisness in the game industry. And why are u only comparing platformers the Galaxy series and Colors are the best 3d games while NSMBWii and Sonic 3K were the best ever. And the worst are Mario's time machine and Sonic Next Gen! actually do some research.

@luftman I haven't played it but I think so the nintendo ds has a sonic game that is rpg or at least rpg elements. Didn't bioware have something to go with it? Dark cronicles or something. Man picking between sonic and mario is so difficult. As a kid I def liked mario and as a teen sonic was my fav. Now I just dont know if I could pick. Can't we all just get along?

Whoever thinks that Sonic next-gen sucks are not true Sonic fans. True Sonic fans accept what they have, and MAKE it a good thing. Some people try to find glitches in Sonic 06, just to make it a bad game. If they hadn't looked for glitches, it wouldn't be such a bad game.

@ConorAlderson Sonic Generations features both 2D and 3D gameplay and you can play as Modern and Classic Sonic. Has Mario made any games like that? No. Mario games usually have the same shit all the time. Mario Kart is an okay game, I found it really fun in the first few weeks playing it, but it got boring after that. Almost ALL Sonic games are racing games, and about 65% of them are better than Mario Kart.

Sonic 1 mega drive, super mario world snes are both legends, these games can not be beat. They are the bench mark, fact.

i sorry but mario has 10 times better racing game than sonic i mean the worst mario kart is 5 times better than sonic R i mean come on did you actually play that game but sonic ans sega all star was really good and even just as good as mario kart. one other problem is why don't you compare 3d mario with 3d sonic as i tough all sonic had was his 2d games. im not saying that this list is bad because its good but i feel it was more on sonics side than marios.
