Just Say Yes [[chapter 3 Gleeful Lima]]

Jessica lounged on the chair enjoying the warmth radiating from the sun. She had her glasses on her eyes and was relaxing with her eyes closed. She could hear the laughter emitting from the people around her. Christina was still tanning next to her. They had talked about a lot of things. Christina was just like Jasmine so she liked her.

"I thought you said you were coming in?"

Jessica took off her glasses and looked up to see a dripping wet Joe standing over her.

"I'm enjoying the sun. We don't get weather like this in Lima."

Two seconds later she was in Joe's arms then seconds after that she was in the pool. She came up from underneath the water and glared at Joe. He jumped in after her.

"You are so dead."

"Oooh I'm so scared."

She jumped on his back and pushed him under. He came back up and spit out the water from his mouth.

"Oh it's on."

He grabbed her from behind and she squealed.

"Joe let go."

He let go of her and she splashed him. They continued fighting like this for another 20 minutes before getting out of the pool. Everyone was heading inside to get something to eat so it was just Jessica and Joe. They sat out on the chairs to talk.

"So tell me about yourself."

Jessica looked at Joe. "Um well I don't know what to say. I'm not that exciting. I barely get out of lima."

"Oh come on it can't be that bad."

"Well I have two sisters, both older than me. Both were cheerleaders so naturally my parents expected me to be one. So I am, well was. My oldest sister is already married; my other sister was president of the celibacy club but ended up pregnant so my parents kicked her out. So I'm the only sibling left in the house. I used to be able to escape through cheer and glee, but I just graduated so I can't anymore."

"So you sing?"

"Yeah, it's the only way to express things that you can't say. I'm just so mad at my parents for abandoning Quinn at her time of need. She made one mistake and they just disown her. I'm so scared that I'm going to make a mistake and they'll hate me. And I need my sister to be there for me. She's only a year older than me so we're really close. But with all the baby drama which is another long story, and my parents, I needed to do something for me this summer so Jasmine invited me to stay with her. It took a lot of convincing, but I was able to come."

"Long story? I have time."

"You don't want to hear all my drama."

"No, I'm now intrigued by the happenings of this small town called Lima."

He flashed Jessica a smile and she gave a small laugh.

"Really?"

He gave her a genuine look. "Really."
