What an absolute pearler of a day, not a cloud in the sky, excellent June winter conditions. There was not a puff of wind to hinder our flying, and this was evident with the near perfect hovers, and beautiful forward flight attributes.
The KOKO KO-450RF performed really well for both of us pilots. Brad put his recently repaired chopper (HK-450) on the lazy susie to perform some ground tests before he attempts to put her back in the air again.
Stay tuned for further flights of these choppers in the coming weeks, plus an added bonus: (my Thunder Tiger Mini-Titan 325 with HeliCommand HC-3A autopilot system will be making its maiden flight).
Until next time, SAFE FLYING, BLUE SKIES!!
On inspection of the chopper, it turned out that the gyro was over-sensitive, and therefore causing a spin-up on take off, and settling down once fully in flight and a mild touch to the rudder. It was also found that the ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) was not properly configured either, the chopper leapt into the air at just a touch over 50% on the throttle instead of a gradual increase on the cyclic.
These problems have now been rectified, new ESC and the gyro has been reconfigured.
