  • Gary was a pretty damn good guitar player himself and a more than decent electrician's apprentice, at the University of Texas for awhile in the early to mid eighties, as well. Austin misses the man, he was a giant.

  • @GeorgieWise thanks for the info on Gary always loved to see him perform !!

  • massive tone on the harp... my goodness!

  • At The Blue Cafe In Long Beach, CA was the only time I got to see him. With that Tweed BandMaster and his masterful chops he had about the thickest creamy drive and compression I'd ever heard. I was truly in awe. His unmistakable vibrato I'd notice anywhere and that's what sets apart the greats from the rest.....when you hear their sound and recognize it instantly. Miss the G-Man.

  • Nice video. I never saw Gary perform, but knew him for a short time when we worked together in Gary, Indiana around 1980. He was still honing his skills at the time, practicing at work on lunch and performing whenever he could in Chicago. It was obvious at the time that he had a great deal of talent. He was a 'regular' guy and fun to be around. I am a fan of his music and regret having not seen him perform live.

  • thanks, Patrick, for making these available to us! Such cool stuff. Makes me happy and sad at the same time...

  • THanks a lot! Gary is great!

  • Brilliant!

    We sure miss Gary!
