  • Interesting. . If you took the pot off any burner though... it would stop boiling but the water would still be very hot.

  • @godwillhunting2: Of course, but my point is the control that one has over the temperature. As good, if not better than gas, but without the risk. Or for people like me that do not have the kitchen plumbed for gas. I still smile everytime I use the thing!

Now if GE would only pay some taxes! :-)

  • @anthonytalbert .. lol... i live about 45 min from GE Schenectedy, ny.. .. if you could get them to pay taxes I WOULD BUY ONE... hahahahaha.... my only main problem with induction is the cooktop surface.... i cant seem to find cookware that is actually flat.... i have regular glasstop stove and I hate it. Do you find that you get hotspots or that it cooks mainly in the middle of the pan ? I would buy a single burner just to boil pasta if it was really fast..to save only a few min not worth it.

  • @godwillhunting2 Schenectady?! I grew up in Colonie and went to Siena College. Small world. We used to call them "Generous Electric" back in the old days and I seem to remember something about them making locomotive engines. I bought set of Henckels pots & pans on Amazon and they have nice flat bottoms. No real hotspots although the centers of my 12" saute pans seem to get sl hotter than the center - maybe 20 degree. For really fast pasta try the "Fasta Pasta". The darned thing actually works!

  • what model and manufacturer is that? Samsung, Kenmore or GE?

  • It's a GE 30 inch model PHP900. After 2 years I still love it.
