Easier way: Make a simle observation, QS=1;QV=3; PT =3; PR =4; from that we have: Area of Tri. PST= 2*3/2=3; and Area of Tri. PQR= 3*4/2=6; then, 3/6=1/2 and your done. You must make smart observations instead of working too hard. On practice exams find the best ways to do each problem, there is always a fast way. Nice vid though.

Wont it be easier with 1 as QS 2 as SV 3 for PT and 4 for PR?

in the beginning, when u cross multiply, is the 3/4 supposed to be one number?? bcuz if not, wouldnt u multiply the top by 4 and the bottom by 3??

Sorry yo no comprendo... Can you explain your question again? The problem gives us PT/PR=3/4. I just bring the PR to the other side...

good point, spinningbirdkick1! you could have just substituted in the numbers in the numerator and denominator of the given ratios. but to demonstrate the technique clearly, i wanted to sub in other numbers.
