Located 170 km south of Sydney, Jervis Bay is one of the most spectacular locations on the south coast of New South Wales, Australia. It is home to a flourishing diversity of native plants and animals and is famous for its dolphin population as well as being a regular haven for a number of species of whales. The declaration of the 4,800 hectare Jervis Bay National Park in 1995 was hailed as a special addition to the State's national park network. In 1998 the 20,000 hectare Jervis Bay Marine Park was establishing in recognition of it's special and unique marine environment. Jervis Bay: a natural wonder was made for the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service in 1996 to promote the Bay's special conservation significance and to encourage tourism to the area. It received a National Trust Heritage Award in 1997. For more information: http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/parks.nsf/ParkContent/N0090?OpenDocument&...
