I was hanging out with Andreas who is the importer of all Tony Karts for the U.S. and was in charge of the team that ran M.S., Karting World Champion, Marco, and several other drivers during the Nat'ls. (He has also run several F1 drivers, pro drivers, and karting champions in various events) this guy is Barichello's close personal friend and doesn't particularly like M.S. but he was more than impressed with this man's talent, especially since their whole team was under powered all week.

Michael S is a marketing machine. A good F1 driver, not a really great karting driver. The most overrated driver ever. by far.

currently schumi is driving those shifter karts for more than 1 year. I´ve seen him a few times in kerpen this year. he also raced in the "winterpokal" last weekend.

Jaime was not at the event. He had planned to attend but was unable to at the last minute. Piquet, Schumi and Buemi were in attendance. Let's not also forget Dan Wheldon, Buddy Rice, etc. Lots of big names at supernats 09! Good job Tom... can't wait for next year.

@ 40 he did amazingly well against the quickest talents in the world.....I think finishing 7th! in the final!

what is more amazing is that this is Shifter Karts (which he is not used to) that require a much diffrent style of driving then the normal karting events he does...with more time i think he may have even fought for a podium

karting is pure adrenaline and commitment, no surprise f1 drivers find it more exciting to drive a kart than a f1...nowadays
