From where the party make it to the boarder of Midgar via the highway, defeat the Motor Ball, split into 2 groups & head for the town of Kalm to where Cloud starts telling of the story of when he was in Soldier alongside Sephiroth for the horrible Nibelheim incident.

...Wait, I just noticed this now. How/where did Cloud get that different sword? I thought the first new sword wasn't available until after you left Midgar. Apparently I'm missing something.
