Propaganda Art - North Korea

This is part of a new series, showing the art of propaganda. You will find artistic examples from the USA, Great Britain, Soviet Union, France, Italy, Germany, Japan, Latin America, and North Korea. Most of the posters were issued during World War I, World War II, p-lus the Red Cross and the Korean conflict, though a few other political and military confrontations are also included. Note as you watch them that the USA seemed to face World War II heavily influenced by VD and loose lips sinking ships, not to mention buck-toothed Japanese, while Germans glorified blond, blue-eyed youth and fighting men. Italy on the other hand, before changing sides from the Axis to the Allies, chose to play the race card, vilifying black US soldiers. The predominant color in Soviet propaganda was (surprise!) RED. North Korean propaganda is mostly dedicated to anti-Americanism. Japanese World War II propaganda was split between bragging about the rise of East Asia and the damage done by US bombers. And they all did fund-raising, bond-selling money drives. Music includes national anthems, popular war tunes, and some speaking voices.
