This movie came out when i was 11 years old. I loved this movie. Los Angeles Thunderbirds, (T-Birds) was my roller derby team. I love Raquel Welch. Have you seen her lately? She's still as beautiful and sexy as ever. I think I'm gonna request this movie from NETFLIX and watch it again for old time sake.

Patti Canvin aka Big Bertha Bagolini was a real roller derby skater with the Western Renegades.

Judy Arnold did some of Raquel Welch stunts. Kansas City Bomber was my introduction to Raquel Welch. I love Roller Derby and Raquel Welch.

It's popular as a sport now, it was popular as a spectacle back then.

I was in this movie - In May '72, at the Portland Expo Center, I stood in the end row of a small audience during the scene where the skater gets a cup of water thrown in his face. Next the camera panned along the side of the crowd as we threw trash at the same guy in the rink shaking his fist at us- It was like playing a game - lots of fun! I remember the camera (panaflex) equipment sliding by was so distracting while shooting. It took about 2 hours to film 10-15 seconds of the scene.

I also was in the stands. I was so excited to go at 20 years old. And then it was a long boring day. But when the movie came out, it was exciting, nothing like the long day in the old drafty Cow Barn. I briefly show up in the movie. My "fifteen minutes" of fame.
