This Was taken June 16th 2007 on the southbound auto train. The train in which you see it now was all in the Peirson Fl area because of all the fern greenhouses. MORE TO COME!!! I'm going on this train next week and I'm bringing my camera on the way too. This is just a tour from the first sleeper car to the lounge car in the back. Our engines were 88 (leading) and 186 (trailing). Sort of different back then with the paint. I know it was only 1 1/2 years but more cars were in the old scheme. This year there were only about 5 of them. Last year there were probably 12.

  • don't they still have one that originates in NJ? they also once had one that originated in the Chicago area and both went to Fla.

  • @rocksmeller99

amtrak has trains out of both of those cities but they don't go to florida from chicago anymore but they go to florida from new jersey. this train here takes your car with you and it leaves from the Washington DC area and thats the only train that does that in america.

  • I will make sure to get there early, i have to drive from philly down so this should be fun. how was the ride? looks a lil bumpy

  • @airlinephl2

Sometimes it gets pretty bumpy but most of the times its smooth. I'm from the Lehigh Valley area so the only thing that sort of sucked was driving back from the station.

  • this is an old video there are now flat screens in the lounge car

  • @librac61682

I know. It was weird because we were on it one week and they had the old TV's but for the return trip, they had all new flat screens. This was taken back in 07', the first time we were on.

  • @DAKRUPAINATER Yes, as far as I know the Auto Train has only ever run between D.C. and near Orlando. There are other regular trains that you can take to Florida but they all take at least a day and a half from where I live because they are not non-stop like the Auto Train. I've taken it 11 times so far. Love it. But spend the extra money for a sleeper.

  • @ejnkrzykwa Not anymore, I just rode it 2 weeks ago. I didn't wake up once during the night.

  • Pretty informative. Did she say "stinky car?" And what did she say her name was? I was also surprised how much the first car swayed.

  • Nice!!!! I have ridden Amtrak's California Zephyr train round trip between Reno, Nevada and Chicago, this inside of this auto train looks a lot similar to the inside of the Zephyr.

  • The train is comfortable and modern, but make sure you know the track is bad and the train rocks non-stop.
