UNUSUAL OBJECT ON MARS

Gusev crater is filled with really weid objects, none qualifies for the simplistic explanation of pareidolia. What you see has not earthly equivalent, but you can tell it cannot be a natural formation.

This does not look real. The track in front of it is not from the rover.

My money is on a more earthly explanation unless someone can provide a link to an original photo in the NASA archive.

when you have a meteorite impact u have a zone forming a circle of shrapnel and debris towards all directions if this "item was found outside the crater it could possibly be just a pointy part of the rocky soil that was ejected during impact and just landed there.

actually mars has global dust storms so it is quite plausible that any artifacts could quite well be covered and uncovered on a regular basis
