This is an elite Kenyan runner who did not wear proper running shoes until his late teens. He midfoot strikes while wearing running shoes, but without any apparent changes in the positioning of the runner's leg or foot he forefoot strikes when barefoot. The wedged shape midsole of the shoe affects how the runner's foot contacts the ground.

@kevinvolkmann no it doesnt necessarly take time. if you use years your either doing it wrong, have an extremely low learning ability or simply is brain dead.
you need to be careful and have a slow progress, true. today tho there are so many shoes good for making this change that unless youre a professional runner that cant take time to step down on his km/week there is no reason this should take more than a year.

@longinos10 You're nitpicking. He's a midfoot striker.

@imaking425 run barefoot as much as you can. when wearing shoes, keep the entire lower leg relaxed to eliminate the dorsiflexion that causes heel-striking. it takes time (years). good luck.
