It's so sad to see the devastation that was created by the tsunami on December 26, 2004. Although it's over a year since this occurred, we can't forget about it. This video shows some of the ways that people helped out in Canada, raising money for the Red Cross to use to help out those who lost so much. It's amazing to see how people were so willing to help, very touching. The song in the background of the video is Give a Little Bit sung by Roger Hodgson of Supertramp (and the video does include actual footage of Hodgson, by the way), it's very fitting to the situation, and really, those are words we should all remember; Give a little bit of your love to me, and I'll give a little bit of my love to you.
How would you help a community recover from a tsunami? Who do you help first? What kind of help do you offer and how do you decide between quick fixes and slow but sustainable long-term projects? Take the British Red Cross challenge Decisions for Recovery and see how well you would cope. Visit the British Red Cross channel for more information.
