Some switching footage, complete with scanner chatter. Sorry about the wind noise, but there isn't much I can do about that. The Freeport Local Crew (AKA FURBALL) works the Adkins Energy Ethanol Plant in Lena IL with the IC 9630, an EMD GP38. This unit has unique exahaust spouts. This was shot on Saturday, Jan 5 2008. Which shows the train rolling over rural Harlem Center Road at a decent pace.

  • This vid starts out with an IC engine and two L&N cars... sweeeet train watching, man!

  • Yep, two good roads in one train!

  • the reason for the unique stacks is because of the icg's paducah shop rebuilding program in the late 70's & 80's, don't think this loco was rebuilt but those exhaust stacks are definatllty unique to the ic & other railroads that had locos rebuilt at icg's paducah shop

  • Thanks for the info Randy! That is the first thing I noticed about the loco because I had never seen anything like that before.

  • Awsome job LOVE it Favorited!

  • @ruarc2077 Great job thank's enjoyed very much :)

  • @Landaux If only someone could replicate that classic gp sound for MSTS :)

  • Ill bet its NOTHING but cold there! I dont want to know the windchill. But ill tackle the cold and stay put in one spot where I know a warm room is pending, than retreat from a hurricane and come back home with a blown off roof, and no power in swealtering 95 degree heat with 90 degree humidity making a 110 heat index for 10 days! The price you pay the gulf-coast states. GREAT footage BTW, love the sound of thoes GEEPS! :D

  • January 7, 2008? that was my sister's birthday and turned 11. She's turning 13 in January

  • Awsome! A K5LA on an IC GP! 5* & a fav!

  • This reminds me of the old days. My feet get COLD just watching this... LOL

  • If you live in Illinois, Michigan or other northern states, you get used to it very fast.
