Tuis are famous birds in New Zealand, very nearly a national symbol. They were beaten out by the Kiwi bird, which has to be said, is quite odd and somewhat amazing. BUT, I don't have video of a Kiwi bird, I have video of the Tui.

The tui is a master songbird, as this one clearly demonstrates. They have two voice boxes, and are known for mimicking the sounds of other birds, other animals and even things like cell phone rings. In this video, you can hear some different bird song in the middle of the this sequence. The only one that I recognize for certain is the hooting squawk of the magpie.

They are also just a lovely bird to look at - black with a green sheen and a distinguishing cotton ball hanging from their chin.
