  • I have taken this tool to 12-14 inches but expect it to go 24".

The nice thing about this design is that you can take the bit adapter and put it on a larger diameter pipe with a adapter, to get more length.

Of course if you are boring thorough a small hole it restricts the bar diameter.

  • Are you going freehand? That is pretty crazy. If that thing exploded and blew your hole head off that would be insane. Hope it doesn't though so I can keep watching sweet videos like this one.

  • i thought it was quite fun....

  • Is this end grain hollowing? I'm having a hard time with the tool catching and putting a lot of pressure on the one way chuck.

  • Love it. Need a tool and can't buy it? Make it yourself. My father used to make his own tools when it was either too expensive or wasn't available in our area.

  • Interesting tool. Is it captured at the back or are you trying to hold on tight when reaching so far in.

I have the Keith Clark deep hollowing system and it gives you the benifit of free hand or the option of a captured bar. Do you fill the bar with buck shot?

  • nice tool! how deep are you boring?
