@TamerBowling out of any ball manufacturer, only including newer balls, what would be the best replacement for the cherry vibe?
-
I just got this ball and I get the same ball reaction. This ball has some sick backend!

would this be a good replacement for cherry vibe?

@bowlcsc I see this ball as very close to the Midnight Vibe, frankly almost indistinguishable. I found the ball reaction of the Cherry Vibe a lot stronger than the Midnight or Grape, in all parts of the lane. Whereas the Grape and MN can overskid, I didn't see that with the Cherry. Also, I saw a very punchy and aggressive move at the transition for the Cherry, more so than either ball.

I currently throw an Onyx Vibe and am looking to replace it with a similar ball that is just a little bit stronger. Based on the research I've done it seems like a good replacement, but I just want a second opinion. Any thoughts?

@hiflipper84 The Onyx was probably the strongest Vibe there was. The Grape Vibe is meant for lighter/medium-light conditions. You'll get a similar motion from the core if you dull the cover down, but the Grape Vibe is much cleaner in the fronts than the Onyx.

@TamerBowling why is the hook rating for the grape vibe an 11 whereas the onyx vibe is only a 9 is the onyx is stronger overall?

@hiflipper84 The rating that was developed when the Onyx came out was relative to the balls at that time. In my experience, the Onyx is absolutely stronger and much earlier than the Grape Vibe. The Onyx would serve more as a control reaction whereas the Grap Vibe will be more skid/flippy.
