Svend is a director with style of his own :

I want create that magic sparkle which makes people forget the world around them

Since his early days, Svend is passionate about going beyond. Born 1971 in the beautiful harbor city of Hamburg, Svend originally wanted to become a magician. Completely absorbed by his art he even was ready to run away with a circus magicianBut the latters fear of the consequence quickly put an end to Svends career in a circus. Instead Svend became member of the Magic Circle of Germany and started performing in magic shows.

After school he found his way to the Dusseldorf Fine Arts Academy and finally ended up at the Munich Film Academy where he turned into a passionate visual illusionist.

Awarded with a scholarship he moved to Los Angeles, followed by a beautiful life and work as a director of TV commercials in Latin America. Since then he is represented on markets worldwide: Europe, North America, Latin America, Middle East, North Africa, East Asian, India. Svend is fluent in German, English, French, Spanish and Italian.

Stylistically, Svend loves to shoot visual storytelling intriguing stories told with thrilling images. Further he put a lot of care in the treatment of sound & music.

In order to have his own playground, Svend found Ocean Pictures, a production house with affiliations worldwide.

His great passion for entertainment keeps him busy on a large scale of genres:

In advertising spots, he is a specialist for comedy, emotions, children and cars. His spot Flying Paul entered the Short List of the Young Directors Award at the Cannes Ad Festival.

His credits in TV include the direction of Germanys record-beating soap opera Good Times Bad Times which holds a daily market share of 30%. Recently, he shot the German version of Ugly Betty , In Love in Berlin

All of his short films were invited to major film festivals (e.g. Cannes Film Festival). Some won awards and many of them found professional distribution. At present he just finished shooting the interactive Sci-Fi animation movie White Spot and has several Feature Films in development.
