IE, reverse stress loadings as well as the fact that some ductile materials such as metals behave britally and fail under smaller loadings if exposed to more abrupt forces.

@EliteAmericans Im saying is that the actual wind speed would be the same. The only differences in structural damage would be due to wind direction and wind shifts, not the drag force.

@liquidstl yeah but a tornado is more concentrated and violent an EF2 hurricane eye wall would do similar structural damage as a direct hit from an EF-0

@EliteAmericans Actually, As a Cat 1 with 80 - 90 mph sustained winds. You have a 3 second gusts more than 110 mph. Thats Low end of EF 2. The Ef Scale assumes 3 second gusts in tornadoes.

I had never been in a hurricane when it felt this cold either actually. The reason for the cold was due to dry air being sucked into the storm. Thus, evaporation occured faster leading to it feeling colder.

Oh yeah most definitely, Hurricane Ike was undergoing the same process and was equally awesome. However, it hit around 2-4 am so I couldn't get any good vid :(

A hurricane i'm sure can make anyone fly, given a fast enough wind speed. I'll have to test that next summer when I chase my next storm :).

Yeah, on the drive back to San Antonio, we drove through many towns where that had happened. Just got done w/ Ike, it was even better :)

Oh yeah, we have some video of us actually in the road... Almost got knocked over a few times... here though, I am against the wall of our hotel.
