haha this solves a mystery that I've wondered about for many moons. I had this Barbie, and I cut her hair. I don't remember doing it, but something must have provoked me. NOW I read these comments about the wiry hair and it's making so much more sense...thirty years later!

80`s dolls are so pretty i wish i had one now they are all divas who all care about pink and make up and having purses and all that nonsense....plus the barbie dream town house is all pink and purple not like a regular house-i would know because i have a 9 year old sister;/

@LadyDi4476 I had the styling head version...I pulled out all the gold because it was wiry compared to the rest of her hair...and since it wouldn't curl the way i wanted it too, I ran a barely warm curling iron over it...well needless to say her hair "texture" changed form SILKY to more like mine....and actually, since I could still style it, I was koo with that.

@MsTexas73 Ah...I see. Thanks for letting me know.

@dynasue77 Tonya's about 40...I remember her being just a couple of years older than I was when she was on Knot's Landing. And I'll be 38 this year.

@Moviestar20 Not sure who the blonde is...but the brunette is Tonya Crowe who played Olivia, Abby's daughter, On Knot's Landing.

I had this Barbie, and I loved her necklace. How about those hairstyles, huh? LOL

I was born in '81, so I missed out on this! She is beautiful but the clothes are definitely remiscent of the decade earlier to me.
The commercial was definitely early 80s, since all that screaming for Barbie and neon colors that the latter decade was known for came around after! The girls and dad are talking too quietly for me... (>_<)
i had this doll, she was my fave, UNTIL my "friend" lol told me she would be better if she was in water, so I wet her and ALL her wires stood straight up on her head and could not be fixed! My "friend" said that happened to mine too, I just didn't want yours better than mine. I was soo bent, lol. that was over 20 some odd years ago, and I still never forgave her, lol

The melody of the background music sounds extremely similar to the song "Georgy Girl".
