Steve just wondering where you predict the leafs to finish this year.. u have to figure that without Mats, Darcy, and McCabe that they would fall significantly lower.. the only real improvement to them is backup goalie, but even still as much as i like cujo, last year he was playing in the spangler cup, so you never know what you'll get out of him... btw love ur vids.. ur funny and u know quite a bit about hockey

thought he was the one guy they might have kept..made him the captain..and build the new team around him..would aprobably kept Tucker too...but well..nobody should be givven no-movement clauses IMHO

Ok mathmatician !!! The salary cap actually INCREASED for this season for all NHL teams. $5.75-mil this season will seem like a little bit less. The Leafs paid McCabe his $7.15-mil for last season, which comes from ticket prices. This is what angered Leafs fans. As far as the cap hit is concerned, if McCabe wasn't a Leaf, then the Leafs would be paying some other defenseman the same kind of salary. But I don't expect typical Leafs fans to understand that.

Let's see. The Leafs have paid McCabe his $7 mil for last season, and are not going to be paying for his cheaper salary for the next couple of years, FLA is. Do the math geniuses.

I can't explain this any more clearly. They paid the money. I know that. THE CAP HIT IS STILL 5.75. End of story.

Cap space? At only $4 million + per year, McCabe is a REAL STEAL for Florida. Some teams are signing players for 7+ years. Not even the Maple Leafs are that dumb. What do you people out there know about hockey? Seems to me that most of you don't watch the game that much to understand it. Or just very bad math. Not surprising seeing that I never knew anyone that could do math better than me.

Y'know, you really shouldn't get all defensive when YOUR facts are incorrect. The Panthers are paying him $4million but his CAP HIT is $5.75 million.
