@bruhe yh but the thing is tht most of us get an error that doesnt let us do anything then c4d crahses so i think this is a pretty good way to do it

Most would suggest you use the 4 view port setting and in the appropriate viewport, click Edit and then on the Back tab, put your picture there. But however you get your results to be best is the way you should do it :)

how would you go about modeling a yacht from blueprints? There are usually no front and rear prints.

How do I know how big my surface must be so the blue print is not distorted projected on it?
