Full marks for getting into the problems at base level. I enjoyed my education and never stopped learning! My secondary school was one of the best in the area in the 1970's when I attended, now it's one of the worst..real pity. The teachers were strict but fair, some had a great sense of humour, all were brilliant teachers. Went to 3 or 4 of Shakespeare's plays in full! One at Stratford Upon Avon. Should we suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous Labour? No thanks..

on the subject of literature.
I was given a copy of 1984, and read it all. I returned for A-levels, and am stuck reading a page here and there, just to get what we 'need'. No wonder kids hate reading; they don't get the full detail of a basic novel.
I have friends who hate English because of Shakespeare and Marlowe, whereas I love it for reasons like Wilde and Blake, because "The language is complex". Another problem that needs to be solved:
