A new method in foam sclerotherapy, by removing the injected foam from the targeted varicose veins. Lowering risk of DVT, plus it is associated with much less leg pain and discomfort, and trapped blood after treatment. In my experience best and easiest vein to be treated with this technique is the Short Saphenous Varicosity. Long segments of same varicose vein (such as Greater Saohenous Varicosity) can be treated using this Multi-Segment Foam-Washout method. However, Endovenous ablations such as EVLT/ELVeS are better treatments for GSVs. Patients who had this treatment on one leg and regular foam sclerotherapy on other leg (similar varicose veins), have preferred this method in my observation. I suggest that like anyb other technique, one must receive proper training before applying this or any other treatment method. Patent Pending. Khalil Fattahi, MD California
