  • isn't that a PELTIER?

  • ...did you say this would be attached to a chimney?

  • sink could work in this case? or what about stirling engines? or maybe have the beam focused on the middle of a long conductive peice or metal/heat sink, and have 2stirling engines mounted in close to the beam ,then put some teg's farther down on the heat sync bar father away from where the sun beam is,what do you think?

  • @chop98 ok thanks ,thats why i asked, im not too knowledgeable about this sort of technology,i dont even know whats inside that makes it work, whats the principal? but im sure there woould be a way to dissipate or radiate the energy over a wider distance .so i could use a bank of TEGS, like in some commercial solar tracking mirror systems in mohave,i know they use molten sodium, or salt, or some type of oil to move throught pipees to a boiler powering a turbine generator, so maybe just a big heat

  • @bulletproof2353 You put a fresnel lens on those TEGs and you'll be burning your money up right in front of you. The directed sun power of a fresnel is waaayyyyy too much temperature for those TEGs. I don't think they make a TEG that will handle over 1000 degrees. They could, but none I've seen.

  • @tegpowerdotcom ,i have 2 phrenel lenses from old projection tv's(so far) and i was thinking of using them with a sun tracker and a TEG ,so it focuses th light on them as long as the suns up, how big a teg is ideal ,and how much power could i expect? the lenses are 52 and 61 inches ,maybe be getting 2 more soon,be nice to have a rotating bank of them on the roof with a sun tracker and some TEG's , but how much power?peak

  • so why the others build from sun heat threw mirrors direct to power the stir linger motor to generate the electricity

  • Do you make the thermocouplers yourself or do you purchase them?

  • :(>

  • Very cool...I laugh at those who say "use a parabolic mirror or fresnel lens"..they are useless at night or in the cloudy winter weather. Your unit will work 24-7 in any weather, day or night..
