Husky training off lead and to heel

I have trained this Husky to recall, walk off lead and to heel amongst other commands but have since been told that Husky owners do not let their Huskies off lead as they do not return.
Having raced a team of Huskies from Sweden to Norway within the Arctic circle in April as part of the 2010 Arctic Husky Challenge, I am well aware of how much they love to run and how long they are capable of pulling huge loads over the frozen deserts of crisp white snow, but they also love to learn.

Six Huskies pulled me (15.5 stone), the sled, food, tent, clothes and all the kit and kaboodle for 9 hours non stop and still they wanted to run. They truly are amazing dogs.

Love and mutual respect are a gift and have to be earned.
