Am I the only one enjoying the fact that they're using Windows XP? I thought I was all alone on that one!

Ok. Who do I have to throw all of my money that's for food, electricity, and water to get one?

Фигня! Ни одна кукла не сравнится с передвижением костей в ручную, ни по скорости ни по качеству :)

Truly 3D owes so much to stop motion animation, this was just the next logical step I guess

You are correct, and I agree with you. In the end it does come down to taste.

You're correct, but I'd rather use something like to QUMA or "Dinosaur Input Device", if I have an opportunity. You see, when I manipulate manequen, I can use 10 fingers and manipulate model in 3d space. With mouse you have one "finger" (mouse pointer) and work in 2d space with no tactile feedback. Unless you have 3d glove with feedback or unless you animate something too messy to do in real-world 3d, I'd say QUMA would be more powerful. But, I guess, in the end this is a matter of taste...

THat's very true and I completely agree with you, but it is possible using MMD to edit the motion you already made. Stand for a few seconds to fill in a stunt, then go back and delete the standing keyframes, and add some keyframes where you pose your model doing a stunt using the bones. It's really easy using MMD's IK system, you just use a mouse instead of a doll. I'm an experienced animator and artist.

Although kinect is definitely cheaper, it is less precise, plus it has one important limitation - kinect (or any other mo-cap device) would require actor/stuntman. You alone won't be able to animate stunts, fights (any mo-cap punch/kick always lacks impact) non-real movements like flying, and it will be very difficult for you to, say, realistically move like a girl if you're a guy. With stop-motion there are no limitations - as long as you can pose a doll, you can animate anything.
