Hmm, that's interesting, I never considered how the palms facing inward may make a difference, cool tip, thanks.

@trickzter1 My memory of behind-the-neck pullsdowns with Nautilus equipment is that they were not as abusive to shoulder joints as on more common machines. The grip was narrower, and if you look at the contour of the handle in this video it's evident that when doing Nautilus pulldowns, your palms face each other rather than facing forward, and so at the bottom were near your ears rather than slightly behind your head; it seemed to make a difference.

Arthur Jones was the only person ever to get rich building a machine that would never break.

Behind the neck pulldowns are terrible for your shoulders!

@tyciol Apparently they aren't doing too well.

Great piece of machinery.
Not as far as I know - Misuse of any exercise tool will cause potential injury - Proper controlled movements within reasonable anatomical positions if the dosage is reasonably within ball park individual requirements - rarely propblems should occur - on the contrary such insanities that address gross movements like P90X, CrossFit and other like stupidities will cause plenty of unwarranted damage.
