Not sure what the MEXICO thing was about at the end. Mexico has a lot going for it but its govt keeps the people impoverished/enslaved. Mexico could be everything the United States is and more were it not for its corrupt govt.

Two great players: but Eric just got schooled in latin rock... it's not always as easy as it feels. To Eric's credit, by five mns in he was groovin and burning with the band. ...with a few exceptions Santana and Al DiMeola still pretty much "own" the latin rock genre though.
That said, Carlos can't even touch Eric in straight-on blues... Santana's blues album effort with the Fabulous Thunderbirds (Havana Moon) was a sad trainwreck. Eric would have certainly made that album worth a listen.

I grew up listening to both Santana and Clapton, both have their own style and I must say when combined, it is absolutely Awsome !!
