  • 1198 they didnt even have their second album out then when was this song written then?

  • I don't know when this song was written, but sometimes songs get recorded and don't suit the nature of the album, such is the case with this song. Like "You've Got Her in Your Pocket" was written around 1998 but didn't get recorded and released until 2003 on Elephant.

  • ah i see also like bone broke was wriien in 1998

  • Awesome, I never knew. When'd you find this out? It sounds like it was.

  • umm i dont quite remember but i think i read it in an article or wait i remember i think i found out in the book called sweethearts of the blues a sort of biograohy of the white stripes. it was a great book indeed so. last year i read it

  • Thanks a lot, I'll look up the book. peace

  • @peppermints53 kinda been a long time, but if you look up jack white and the bricks on youtube their is a show where he performed many songs that later became white stripes songs. It seems that many of his songs were written rather early and then perfected over time until they finally made it to albums

  • haha yeah.

I read the book. Was kind of disappointed by it, turned out it's a tinsy bit... shit :( But a lot of good stuff in there anyway :)

Fancy seeing you here mlsku :P

  • Seriously?

  • November 98 if I'm not mistaken?

  • I know. Plus Meg, back then, was babilectable!!

    Great work!

  • Ah really great song you can hear the influence of jimi hendrix' foxey lady simply the best!!!

  • I like this song but I seriously prefer Jack with longer hair lol

I love that there's still audio or video footage of times 'back in the day' so to speak. They wouldn't seperate until february the following year, so it's cool.

But yeah, a lot of songs were written years before they were recorded, like The Union Forever was written when Jack was 19, so that must have been around 1995. Much older than we realise. I so have to look up sweethearts of the blues :O
