It's a long time since I read the book, but this does not bode well for the writing as I recall it.
"A Single Man" was downbeat, even a bit dowdy... but captured the sense of loss and emptiness in little daily things. The characters were down to earth, middle class, not glitzy fashion plates. "Fuckcrapshit"'s crude vehemence aside.... I think he has a bit of a point. I have the highest regard for Ms. Moore, but wonder if she ever read the book.
