This is a fast paced, entertaining look into how professional sculptor Lynn Forbes creates masterpiece sculpture... Her Visual Dynamics teaching technique is used in sculpting portrait busts and figurative sculpture using ceramic clay which is usually bisque fired and often turned into bronze sculpture for commissions.

While it is amazing to see how quickly and easily Forbes creates highly realistic portaits that seem to breathe out the very personality of the subject... what is even more amazing is to hear what students in the Lynn Forbes classes are saying (on other videos by the Lynn Forbes School of Sculpture, located in Carlsbad, California). Her classes focus not only on portraits, but on all figurative sculpture including nudes and fragments.

In this video one observes Lynn in action and hears a description of the Visual Dynamics technique--along with a summary of what sets it apart from other teaching and instructional methods.

  • wow!! that guy's been sitting there for 2 hours?!? wow... o.0 but cool scuplture!! =) Love it!!

  • Most people sit for two hours for a portrait, but regular models pose for 1 1/2 hours at a time. When I demo, they sit (or stand) there all day and the next...

  • cool... I have tried to pose before too... But after 10min or so I began to feel reallyyyyyy uncomfortable. It's amazing that they could actually pose for soo long(even standing) without falling asleep -___-ll
