@ohmah70 You clearly missed the point of the song. You're an idiot.

Im sure the explosive popularity of Pearl Jam during the 80`s prompted him to use the line if I were Eddie Vedder would you like me even better, was actually a compliment rather than an insult!Eddie has one of the toughest voices in music,my personal opinion.Up there with greats like Jim morrison ETC.

I don't know how anyone can listen to this song and think it was some sort of insult. Nothing about it implies that, if anything he's lamenting things. It's amazing how dense people are.

they should be more popular
listen... the song is not an insult to eddie vedder. as good as dead is a concept album about a young man who feels he is being slowly eaten alive by a small town; if he doesn't get out, he's as good as dead. ignoring this fact, the lyrics of this song do not make any direct attack on eddie. hopefully this comment will fall on at least one pair of intelligent, receptive eyes. internet tough guys need not respond.

@BU2K12 Oh. I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. Seriously, I really do like knowing what bands got started out when. It helps me appreciate how groundbreaking bands like Local H really were. I mean, who sounded like this in 1987?
