The bugs in the apples are temporary -- there's a bit of a plague on at the moment -- but both trees' days are numbered. The apple tree's truck has rotted most of the way through and it was so badly pruned before we moved in, it's a miracle it's still standing. The other has two small branches left, one of which is about to break. No chance of saving either, I'm afraid.
