@Wedge4Life Bought the car for $3,200 ready to race, but you can definitely do it cheaper than that. Safety equipment will run you a few hundred more (helmet, gloves, race suit, race shoes), and then entry fees for the season are around $600.
I'm racing a RWD Corolla this season and it's going to cost me about $2,500 for the season, including building the car as I already had the bolted tires left over from my Neon.
