Folk, rock - call it what you will, this is still a brilliant song and one of Blyth Power's best. It tells a great story with fine poetry, wit and intelligence. The folk/sea shanty treatment of this song is also appropriate for the subject of the song. A new live version of this song is now on youtube which captures the essence of this song much better. The album version is also brilliant! One of those songs that thrills me so much I feel like jumping out of my chair!

I liked Blyth Power more when they were a rock band. They now seem to be more like The Pogues or Fairport Convention - nothing wrong with that I suppose. They should have a team of Morris dancers as support.
