He used to hang out with the Beach Boys in Tate's estate, he even wrote most of the lyrics for their album "20-20".

Charlie had some musical talent, no denying that. Neil Young knew Charlie and Neil told his record label to sign Manson. But, remember Charlie was already in his mid 30s at this point. He didn't have time to develop, he wanted a career immediately. And, when he didn't get it, well . . we all know the rest of that story.
