@pero39999 its for balancing purposes, the pelican is just so there is a way for humans to escape, allowing players to make up stories of what happens when a core is captured/when it isnt captured. example1: the pelican escapes with the core and makes it back to a unsc base where it is analyzed. example2:the core isnt captured and covenant fighters shoot down the pelican and kills all of the inhabitants, leaving the spartans on the ground to fight for their lives.
