  • What is your mic set-up? As you said awhile ago, the mic's are doing the heavy lifting and, I suppose, really rounding things out nicely. Great video! Great playing!

  • @1decoy67 All I have is the one AKG C1000S above the kit. Thanks for the kind words.

  • Yeah, I actually just played this thing on stage with a 6 piece band in a big venue... Really, I don't think an extra $100 bucks would make any difference. This is a low end kit. I think the $100 is really just gonna go toward the finish. Without improving the hardware, you are just gonna have a basic cocktail kit. But it does sound pretty good for being so cheap.

  • @garvin80 the difference between the standard and elite kits is not only the finish... standard kit shells are maple, and elite shells are birch... its more a matter of taste than anything else... if you prefer maple shells, the standard kit is just what you want....

  • @sergioajaimes Thanks for that man! I guess I'm kind of surprised that the elite kit uses birch. I really am happy with maple most of the time. My primary kit is a Yamaha Oak Custom, but other than that, I usually look at maple over birch.

  • What are you using for heads, especially the beater for the foot? Also, are those the stock cymbals?

  • @BangorBassist - The batter heads are just some left over Evans g1's. The bass batter is just the stock head with a piece of felt across the inside. The cymbas are not stock. The hihats are Dream Bliss 12" and the ride is a 20" medium Zildjian K Constantinople. You could buy 2 or 3 of these kits for the price of the ride ;)

  • Very nice jazz drumming!

  • Greg, I trust your judgement especially since you own drums that were made by

a Valje Craftsman! Not talking about LP Valje either! Salud!

  • @Mrnickdude100 - Any sparkle or solid colors are wraps. Anything listed as walnut, any color fade, natural, transparent, or lacquer is a wood grain finish. The only one I'm not sure of is the Sea Blue, but i looks like a spray fade in the pic on their site.

  • Very nice! I'm ordering one very soon. Was thinking about the Elite, but if I can get this kind of sound out of a standard kit, why pay the extra 100+ dollars!
