@PHeMoX Mines an animal. It flies very well, reliable and hauls ass! Mine has had zero problems, and out runs a stock Trex 500ESP easily.. but its all about making it what you want it to be.. a stock HK is gonna have issues....swap a few parts and its as reliable as any heli, go further and it becomes a seriously smooth, awsome machine. I have alot invested in it.. but its worth every dime. In fact, its going FBL this fall.

@Blaydrnnnr I'm glad there at least seem to be SOME reasonable people out there when clones are concerned. These helicopters require a lot of attention and some require Align parts to improve overall reliability, but it's not like they won't fly. :)

@MikeysRC It's a Bullet 500S with plastic tail. Basically a model in between the HK 500 CMT and HK 500 GT and according to the manufacturer 100% compatible with Align.
My CopterX 500 V2 looks incredibly similar, except for the plastic tail which is metal in my case.
I don't think brands matter though. Build it properly and it will fly awesome.

@riversidedan As for brand of clones, it doesnt matter much anymore. I have several. And the main thing is that you can usually swap out parts for Align, if you want, but no matter what brand, if you take the time to make sure everythings there, LOCTITE everything metal! And do your homework on set up, a clone is an awsome and cheap way of moving up to a size like a 500. Once your flying is GREATLY improved, save for an Align or Mikado or a Guai. A bad set up makes ANY heli dangerous.

@taurustbolt the pitch settings your posting are great for a beginner. 0° at mid stick is a matter of preference, but, if you are going to go to throttle up at some point, you want 0° at mid stick so that pitch is the same after 50% stick, this way when you go throttle up, you wont get a jump in pitch, just headspeed. My normal flight settings are -3° @ 0%, +5° @ 50% , and +11 or 12° @ 100%. This is good for a beginner. Once you get comfy, change to 0°@ 50%, then you'll work on -12° to +12°.

@agwright1183 No but you can use the info in tm How To Build a 450 video series to complete the set up.

hey mikey, in regards to your pitch curve settings...some people suggest -3* to 12* pitch with 0* at mid stick. Any thoughts on this? Is yours oriented towards beginners?

@taurustbolt Yes with the curves I show you the helicopter is a little more "floaty" close to o throttle which I think is better for new pilots.

EXI, HK, HOBBTPARTZ whatever brand it is ya cant tell the diffrence anymore LOL at any rate anyone contemplating dealing with EXI needs this heads up,so dont say ya werent warned

@riversidedan The helicopter in this video is none of those brands nor was it from HobbyKing or that company in Southern California. It was from a reputable RC helicopter dealer.
