It is actually called a dishwasher tailpiece. When purchasing strainers for your sink;they are called basket strainers.When going from your strainers to your pipe;you must purchase two 11/2" trap adaptors.You will then use a T-Y and a 90 degree elbow to go from 1 strainer to the other.Then a short piece of pipe from the bottom of the T-Y to the P-trap and from there to your drain. I am under the opinion that he hasn't been at it for to long a time. Best of luck to all.
