Paralympic sled hockey is a fast paced, exciting sport created for hockey players who have lost the use of their legs. In the 2002 Paralympics in Salt Lake the US team won the Gold. This is a bit of their story.
@FunnyRJ These are adjustable to the users liking. They can be adjusted to be wider or narrower and some people even use just one blade or skid. But, the typical width is about what you saw at 1.53 I only was able to partake once in a warm up session due to my chronic pain issue, I was not able to actually play. It was so much fun. I wish I could play.
sry i have a question. i began to play sled hockey...i have little problems with the balance my question is. are the skids from the sled at 1:53 normal? if yes than it will be easier for me to play sled hockey. i hope you or other persons can answer. thx
I was at the 2002 Gold Medal game in Salt Lake. It will be one of the highlights of all the hundreds of games I've been to, in any/every sport. I wish everyone could have been there that day. Great job, I'm hooked and I can't wait to see the replay tomorrow of 2010's game! :)
Damn. Number 23 is my uncle, Joseph Howard. He has picks of him landing on his face on his facebook [ironically] . You should try to find a video from the 1998 Nagano Olympics. They didn't win the Gold there, but the game was amazing. Oh, and the one in Italy in 2006 was also decent - but Japan was crazy and Salt Lake City was so much better! That was where he proposed to his wife too! It was great!

Think they were good? The 2010 team went not just unbeaten but unscored-on!

I Play Sledge hockey and the bench is at the ice level so it's easier for them to do the line changes.
