I'm not sure what report you are referring to but my original comment referred to the reseach by Prof.Mehrabian that is often inaccurately quoted (and known as the 'Mehrabian Myth' when it is, regarding relative importance of facial and body expression, tone and inflection and words. They do not represent the conclusions reached by him and so I was pointing out their inaccuracy as they are often quoted by those who 'train' people in presentation skills and 'body language'- another fallacy..
@CAOSConflictMgmt If you will bother to check the report you're reading, you will "clearly" see that their study was using only "one" word. I have been in business for over 33 years, and trust me, I have seen salespeople who were very knowledgeable, but had poor tone, inflection and body language and failed. The study you are referring to is a "horrible" example, and one that you should really reconsider before making comments.
