Hello sangha!

Today come along with Brother Echo as he takes his first go at making coconut kefir! As many of you already know from previous videos I've been dealing with candida and as a result have reduced the amount of sugar I intake drastically. In order to come at the candida from more than one angle I've also decided to start feeding the body more cultured foods and probiotic drinks.

A couple weeks ago I found a dependable supply for my kimchi, Erewhon Natural Foods in Los Angeles and now I'm learning to create my own coconut kefir. I should also mention that I will be learning to make my own kimchi as soon as I can find all the ingredients and supplies needed.

Back to the nut!

Making your own coconut kefir really isn't difficult although it might seem so at first (like most things in the living foods world) this is one of those things that once you actually try it, you see it's not so bad after all. I'd say the most difficult part about making coconut kefir isn't in the kitchen but in actually finding decent priced young or thai coconuts! If you go to Whole Foods... be prepared to spend your "WHOLE PAYCHECK"! Young coconuts at Whole Foods are way overpriced coming in at about $4 a coconut! If you find your local asian market you can get them at about half that price... yeah pretty cool huh!

If anyone gives you grief about buying non-organic coconuts, do what I do open your wallet look inside and smile! I'm a firm believer in the benefits of eating organic produce but when it comes to coconuts... err come on... we're talking about coconuts!

Once you have your coconuts you'll also need to find the actual kefir powder that is added to the coconut water. If you call or go into you local health food store chances are they will have some, if not you can find the powder online quite easily. As a matter of fact once the RawSangha.com and RawBreakFeast.com stores are online we'll have it available and Brother Echo will be sure to find the best brand at the best prize... fosho!

Once you have these two key ingredients all you really have to do is add them both to a clean mason jar seal it up and set a warm dark place and a couple days later... bada bing PROBIOTIC GOODNESS!

I'll be making some coconut probiotic yogurt tomorrow so stay tuned for that. In the meantime don't cut off any fingers trying to get into those young coconuts and be well.

Until next time,

Peace, Love, Unity and Respect!

-Brother Echo

  • Heya man, I wanted to ask as well - in this vid you say you suspected Candida issues, etc? How did you fix them in the end?

I think I may have Candida or dysbiosis or a related problem (probably just Candida), and I have been taking stuff like goat's milk kefir (for now), grapefruit seed extract, etc. I was just wondering if you have any advice?

Thanks a lot - you seem very clued up so I thought you would be a great person to ask! ^^

  • @Son1cWave I started taking this Adya Clarity stuff adding it to my water that seemed to help but I'm still working on it to this day... it's not easy. Again I don't have a super extreme case and as I've heard everyone has it in their gut the problem is when it gets out of balance.

I just learned that fats have a lot to do with that... not just sugar!

If I were you I'd do like I am research and experiment to see what works I'm still experimenting.

  • ahahahhaa!!!thank you. i know the only way we do the right thing is if it's fun (no matter what 'fun' means for the person) and your a great leader.

    peace

  • @schpoingle amen to that! Have a great weekend and keep smiling :-)

  • I think Donna Gates (body ecology) recommends young coconuts. She is the candida queen. I doubt the 'sugar' in the coconut water is what's troubling you. Did you know it can be used intravenously as plasma? Have you considered fat as the source of your candida trouble? Are you eating oil or nuts/seeds? I'm sure the probiotics are wonderful for you- I 've had some gut trouble after juice feasting, I would recommend chia or salba daily. They are both gut soothers. Will you show us how your kefir

  • @sharonsoars she is the queen for sure!

  • @RawSangha Yeah it is difficult, you're right. I have heard of the best results with grapefruit seed extract, colloidal silver, kefir, pharm drugs (unfortunately!), coconut oil, metal chelation, stuff like that.

Someone on CureZone apparently cured their Candida in only 3 months with colloidal silver, but I'm scared of argyria lol

Anyway erm, thanks for the input! I think things like this are very common, it's just most people don't know they have them!

    Thanks again!

    Mike :)

  • boom boom boom boom boom! lol :)

Another good vid.. ok now to stop watching videos on Youtube and to start doing Uni work xD

  • please throw the jar away it is not good! it needs to go in the dark! for 3 day

  • I need living pro biotic food cause I have candida and it helps balance the bacteria and it is controlled very well, but I really watch my starches and sugar intake. Becoming raw/vegan has improved my life over all, Its crazy how nutrition and diet can improve your life. One question, what is the serving recommendation for kefir or the yogurt, for a normal person or even someone like me with a compromised digestive system?

  • So I can't just eat young thai coconuts & their water as a probiotic? You pour it much better than I do, I always spill it everywhere..

  • Love your videos! You are just adorable!! I will be trying this soon.

    BOOM! BAM! SHA-ZAM!! :)
