That's okay, watch as the fatality rate will shoot up the roof because train vs car accidents. Seriously, people in some towns are crazy. Notice all the gates at some of the crossings. If they are going to have a quiet zone, FRA requires the gates and other forms to keep people from going around them and maybe close a street or two.

Impressive video!

Friggin' quiet zones. I loathe them. If they ever instate them around here I will incite riots.

Is this part of that same line that goes through downtown Madison and runs along US 151/John Nolen Drive? We visited Madison recently and noticed "exempt" signs up at the crossing where 151, Blair Street, Wilson, and Williamson all come together.
Exempt usually means abandoned, but it appeared this line was still in use (didn't see any trains though), especially near the convention center along John Nolen.

@msk578 This line bends off from the one that goes along John Nolen and follows Campus Drive west out of town. Exempt signs mean that buses, hazmat trucks and other vehicles that would normally have to stop and check the tracks are "exempt" from doing so. Lack of train traffic is one of the reasons for making a crossing exempt, but it's not the only one. In that case, it's to expedite the flow of traffic through the multi-way intersection.
