Season 2 BTF-Ch 10

Chapter 10
*Maybe only Nick knew that the longer he waited to confess his feelings for Alyse, the better the chances were that she would find someone else.*
Nick sighed. He didnt know what to do.
Actually he did, but he didnt want to do it. Instead, he grabbed a towel and took a shower to procrastinate. After that, he sat in his bunk with his iPod, staring his phone down. It was as if it was daring him to call her. Thats when “Hello Beautiful” came on, and he finally cracked. He pressed the number two on his speed dial (it didnt let him program anyone for number one, or Alyse would have been it) and put the phone to his ear as it started to ring. It rang four times, and then she picked up.]
A: Hello?
N: Hi..[he said timidly. She didnt answer for another few seconds.] Alyse?
A: Helllooo?
N: Alyse, its Nick. [There was silence.]
A: Are you there?
N: Yes Alyse Im right here! [by this point he was almost screaming.]
A: Im not here right now, so please leave a message! [The recording finished with an amused tone. There was a beep on the other end, but Nick didnt respond, he was too surprised. Hed never gotten her answering machine before, so he didnt know what it sounded like. He was kinda mad that hed been tricked..or at least embarrassed. He remembered he was still on the phone, so he pressed end without thinking of anything to say. He sent her a text instead: please call me back soon..i miss you (:
Then he put the phone on vibrate, stuck it in his pocket, and went outside to try to relax with the rest of his family.]
*w/Alyse*
[She waited till she was in the shower to start crying.
She didnt know what part had finally made her break, but she was so frustrated, so fed up, she just had to let it out.
Normally she was able to channel all this anger to her dancing. But that didnt help; all dance did was remind her of him. So she had to let it out another way. So she stood under the running water and cried till she felt dry, even under all the water.
After her shower Alyse put on some sweats and made sure she was calm enough to apologize to Deanna at least.
But when she stepped back into the main room, it was empty. She saw her cell phone where she had left it on the coffee table and went to get it. She had two new messages. The first was from Deanna: I know you need your space, so I went to the mall for a bit. Hope you feel better girlie (:
Alyse felt bad for hurting her friends feelings, but she wondered who the other text was from. She opened her inbox and saw it was Nick. About time, she thought to herself. She opened it to see he wanted to talk to her, so she called him back.
**2 hrs later**
[The door opened and Deanna walked in right as Alyse hung up. She was smiling from ear to ear, and Deanna noticed right away.]
D: Alright, spill!
A: What? [She bit her lip to try to hide her smile, very unsuccessfully.]
D: You talked to him?
A: Yup.
D: And..?
A: Aaaand its all good. Hes got a concert a couple hours from here next weekend, so hes coming to get me in the limo and were gonna hang out after.
D: Good! Im soooo glad to see you smiling again hon, you had me worried there for a bit.
[Alyse giggled and was quiet. Deanna knew she was hiding something.]
D: Anything else you want to tell me?
A: Not really . . .
D: Alyse! No secrets!
A: Well . . .

a few things i need to apologize for:: first, its not much of a cliffy, but im out of practice. second! im sorry for not responding to anyones messages, i've been so busy lately. but i promise that i will be posting A LOT MORE soon!! i want to finish this story soon, so i'm gonna be writing as much as possible.
third and most important, i'm sorry for neglecting my fan-fic writer-ly duties. i've been a little busy writing my own story for a bit... ;)
